Fire crews battling blaze in Bearsden restaurant
Six trucks and aerial support were sent to Kirk Lane to tackle the incident
A road in Bearsden has been closed after a fire at an Indian restaurant and takeaway.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six appliances and aerial support to Kirk Lane after reports of the blaze at Raji Rani at 11.38am.
An SFRS spokesperson said two trucks were still at the scene at 4pm.
In a social media post, management for the restaurant said: “We are very sad to let you know that there has been a fire incident at the restaurant so we will remain closed today.
"We are working on mitigating the issue as swiftly as possible, and hope to reopen soon.
"Thank you for your understanding and keep us in your best wishes."
Other businesses in the area remain open, though some are only able to take customers who have bookings as the road is still closed.
