A match made in heaven: Find A Player expands to include new sports
The likes of badminton, basketball and hockey will now be listed as Young Scot teams up with the app
It's a match made in heaven - and now a so-called 'Tinder for sports' is being expanded across Scotland to include more activities.
The 'Find A Player' app - stereotypically associated with Five-A-Side football - will now be available for people looking for competitors in the likes of basketball, cricket and badminton.
It's all down to a new partnership between the app and Young Scot, with the aim of growing participation and improving access to sport for young people in Scotland.
Golf, volleyball and hockey have also been included - and Find A Player CEO Jim Law says they're trying to move away from the image that it's just for lads looking for extra players.
He said: "That is one of the ongoing problems: people think it's just a wee app to find a guy for your 5s team. But what we're trying to deliver is anybody looking for a game in a variety of sports, or finding someone to play with. We can deliver that with a couple taps on your phone.
"It's a sports participation network. It's been a tough journey to get to where we are, but we've got a really good team behind us and the product's in a good place. We just really need to start getting it out there and that's why we're excited to partner with these sports governing bodies."
