MSPs passed new legislation last night which gives police better search and entry powers to catch those breaching their curfews but Craig McClelland’s dad Michael says it does not go far enough.
Craig was murdered two years ago by James Wright - he had cut off his tag and was ‘unlawfully’ at large at the time of the killing.
His family had hoped it would become a specific offence to remove a tag - an amendment that was rejected during the debate:
