Family and friends pay tribute to Ayrshire teenager Jamie Cannon
The missing 19-year-old's body was discovered in Stevenston two weeks ago
Family and friends of Jamie Cannon have paid an emotional tribute to the teenager in Ayrshire this afternoon.
The 19-year-old's body was found in the Ardeer area of Stevenston on February 26, with police confirming the young man was Jamie later that week.
The Saltcoats teen had been missing from home since May 22, 2021.
Dozens of heartbroken friends, relatives and local residents gathered at Ardeer Park, near the rec swan pond, in Stevenston at 1pm to release balloons in his memory.

Many of those paying tribute wore Celtic tops and released green, white and yellow balloons into the sky.
One large balloon, which was the first to be released, read: "Jamie, sleep tight son. Lots of love, Mum, Dad, Aidan and Liam xxxx".
Green and yellow smoke bombs were also set off as part of the remembrance event, which took place as an online fundraiser for Jamie's funeral reached £4,700.

His mother, Lynn Cannon, wrote on the GoFundMe page: "It is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes as I write this, sadly Jamie was found on February 26, 2022. Not the outcome we all hoped for.
"The family would like to thank each and every single person for their support over the last nine months and the continued support you are all giving them now too.
"Instead of making another GoFundMe page, I would now ask that we give Jamie the send off he deserves and raise money for his funeral."

She added: "Take some weight off his parents shoulders. Give Aidan and Liam's brother the send off he deserves.
"Sleep tight, handsome, in the arms of the angels.
"Jamie will be forever 19."
