A 41 year old man from Glasgow is thanking the two Dumfries and Galloway Police officers who stopped him from taking his own life.

The man who we've decided to call 'Mark' went missing after falling into a deep depression when his business failed.

Now, one year on he's been speaking to our reporter Kerri-Ann Docherty:

Nick Jedrzejewski from mental health charity See Me said: "For years there has been a stigma attached to mental illness which makes talking about it difficult, especially for men.

"There's always been this notion of 'the stiff upper lip' and attitudes need to change.

"Our newest campaign is to encourage people to talk about mental health before it gets bad, we all have mental health and if we speak about it in a positive light then it makes it easier to ask for help when things aren't going well."
