Detectives are continuing enquiries following a disturbance between two men in Helensburgh on Sunday 10 May 2015. Around 6.30pm police received a report of a disturbance involving two men in Old Luss Road, Helensburgh. Enquiries so far have revealed that the men were involved in a previous altercation around the Drumfork Court and Buchanan Road areas. At this stage it’s not clear whether there were any other people involved and officers are appealing to local people to contact them with any information they may have. The two men, aged 20 and 25, were taken to hospital, one to the Southern General and the other to the Royal Alexandria where medical staff describe their conditions as stable. Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder and have been gathering CCTV images in an effort to establish the exact circumstances of the assault. Detective Sergeant Lesley Irons said: “We are trying to establish exactly what has happened here, we know that the two men were involved in an altercation but what’s not completely clear is how they came about their injuries. "That’s why we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything or who may have any knowledge of the incident.” Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers at Clydebank Police Office on the non-emergency number, 101.
