Appeal for sightings of cars in Emma Faulds murder investigation

Detectives searching for missing 39 year-old Emma Faulds from Kilmarnock are appealing for anyone who may have seen two cars in the area of the South Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway border, in an attempt to locate her body.

Police think the cars may have travelled on the A714 Girvan to Newton Stewart road on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th April 2019. They are particularly interested in sightings of Jaguar and Mercedes type vehicles.

Detectives are urging people to think back and consider if they saw something a little odd or out of place on those dates in the area of Barrhill, particularly along the A714.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus said:

“This is a harrowing time for Emma’s family. They are in shock and are in the process of dealing with the fact that Emma will not be coming home. I am therefore seeking the public’s help in trying to find Emma’s body.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have been travelling along the A714, either north or south between Girvan and Newton Stewart. Did you see something a little odd or out of place, perhaps you noticed a car in a lay by, do you remember anything which struck you as odd at the time?

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who travels this route regularly, northbound or southbound. If any motorists have dash cams, please check the footage as it may have captured something which could prove vital to our ongoing enquiries to locate Emma.

39-year old Emma Faulds was last seen in Monkton on Sunday the 28th April - an extensive search was carried out on a property there but her body has not been found.

Earlier today 39 years old Ross Willox appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court charged with murder and attempting to defeats the ends of justice.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.
