Disappointed parents have taken to social media to brand the ticket sale for 'Elfingrove' a 'joke' and a 'fiasco'.
Organisers itison had advertised early bird pre-sale for 7.30am this morning, but it has since emerged many people were sent an email allowing them access to passes last night.
The website has also crashed several times and Glasgow Life says demand for the Christmas event at Kelvingrove has surpassed all expectations.
Susan Vallely posted: "Really disappointed to read that these were on sale earlier than stated time. Having refreshed numerous times I finally got on, picked a not so good time only to find when I went to pay that the tickets weren’t available. I really hope you add new dates with family friendly time slots!"
Emma Boyle commented: "I was on since 7am this morning and surprised to see tickets already on sale and also sold out for earlier time slots on the day I wanted. Now have much later than i had hoped. Really disappointing and not ideal for young kids. Hope to see a post addressing these issues soon. Sad for everyone who couldn't get tickets."
Kirsty Hopper added: "I’m the spirit of believing... being true to your word on sale date and time would help. Happy you guys are getting such a good response to your event but in honesty that was pretty poor of you putting your sales on yesterday. All of us have kids to get up and out in the morning and most of us just spent well over an hour trying to get tickets on the sale date and time you announced."
Barrie Cook said: "Absolute shambles!!! Was on at 7 30am this morning & already all days sold out between 5 30 & 7pm. Really catering for young families 🙄 hope for those that got tickets the event is better organised than the ticket sales!"
Taking to Facebook to address the issues Elfingrove organisers said: "Huge apologies if you’re experiencing difficulties trying to buy tickets, our elves are working round the clock to get things sorted.
"Tens of thousands of you have bought and are continuing to buy, so please be patient.
"We’ve been planning for high levels of traffic, but demand has surpassed all expectations, outselling some of the biggest stadium gigs in the UK."
"Thank you so much for continuing to believe."
A spokesperson for itison said: “We did a small pre-sale yesterday for some of our most loyal event goers, such as GlasGLOW, as a thank you for their support. At 7.30am this morning, the official time of our tickets going on sale to the general public, the vast majority of our tickets were still available for purchase.”
