Man charged after pensioner sexually assaulted in her Rutherglen home

A man has been charged after an elderly woman was sexually assaulted in her home on Christmas Eve.

Police were called to Coldstream Drive, Rutherglen, in the early hours after receiving reports of the assault.

The victim was treated for injuries but not kept in hospital.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He will appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday.
