Elderly woman locked in her own bathroom during 'despicable' Glasgow raid
Police are looking for a teenage suspect
Police are looking for a 16-year-old suspect who locked a pensioner in her own bathroom during a 'despicable' robbery.
It happened on Milovaig Street in Summerston at around 6.30pm on Monday August 7.
The 90-year-old woman had a three-figure sum of cash and bank cards taken during the raid.
She was left shaken, but unhurt.
The suspect is thought to have gained access to a common close, before forcing his way into her flat.
Officers say he is around 16 years old, approximately 5 feet 1 inch in height, with a slim build and acne on both of his cheeks.
He was wearing a black woolly hat and a black coloured tracksuit.
Detective Inspector John Morrison said: “This is a despicable crime carried out by a young man who clearly has no conscience and no regard for others.
"I am appealing to people in the area to think about the description and consider if they recognise it or know who the person is.
"Perhaps you noticed him in the area prior to the incident occurring or did you see him run off along Milovaig Street? Please, if you have any information or knowledge, please get in touch and pass your information on.”
Anyone with information is asked to call officers at the Community Investigation Unit at Maryhill Police Station via 101, quoting reference number 1370 of 17 August 2017.
Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
