Elderly woman dies after being hit by van as it parked in Inverclyde

An 80-year old woman has died after being hit by a van in Inverclyde.

Police said Elizabeth Alexander, from Port Glasgow, died of her injuries after being hit by a blue Ford Transit van as it parked on Thursday November 23.

The collision happened at 8.45am in the town's Dubbs Road.

Ms Alexander was taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock, where she was treated but police say she died on Tuesday.

Police said a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing, anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101.
