A pier in Argyll and Bute has undergone a £2.83 million makeover.

Dunoon's iconic Victorian-era wooden pier will be officially unveiled later today.

The investment by the local authority has also included the renovation of the former waiting room building to provide three multi-functional rooms, which will be available for hire as a meeting/conference venue.

The public gates to the pier have also been newly installed combining elements of the Victorian heritage of the pier along with modern materials to give a final design which acknowledges Dunoon’s heritage while looking to its future regeneration.
