Dunoon flat set on fire twice

An appeal for information has been launched after a house in Dunoon was set on fire twice.

Emergency services were called to Eton Avenue at 2:25am on Monday 14th August - where they discovered a fire in the porch are at the front of the building between number 3 and 4.

Investigations show it had been started deliberately.

Fire crews were once again called to the flat on Tuesday 15th August to another fire.

Investigators believe it was started between 2:30am and 2:50am - this time at the back of the property.

No-one was injured either time, however those living in the flats have had to be relocated as the damage to the property is significant.

Officers are in the process of gathering any CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information it can provide.

Detective Sergeant Lynn MacFarlane said: 'We are trying to establish why this property has been targeted on two occasions. It’s fortunate no-one was injured, however we need to trace whoever is responsible. I am appealing to the local community to think back and consider if they saw or heard something suspicious. I appreciate that the incidents occurred in the early hours of the morning when most of us are asleep but if anyone has any information then please do contact us.'
