Police appeal for witnesses after two cars set on fire in Dumbarton

Detectives say it happened at around 1am on Goosholm Crescent

Detectives are appealing for information after two cars were deliberately set on fire in Dumbarton.

Around 1am on Wednesday, 3 May, 2023, a grey Audi Q7 and a white Mercedes A Class were found alight in a driveway in Goosholm Crescent.

No-one was hurt and the fires were extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Detective Constable Nic Neeson of CID in Clydebank said : “The two vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the fire.

“We are reviewing CCTV footage and carrying our door to door enquiries in an effort to establish who was responsible.

"Our enquiries so far have revealed there was a member of the public wearing a grey tracksuit with white trainers in the area around the time of the incident.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of this morning to get in touch with us.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0207 of 3 May, 2023.”
