A woman from Barrachnie who drove to a meeting at a school while four times the legal limit has pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Linda Osborne was caught by police trying to drive out of the car park - while also on her mobile - after being reported by a member of staff.

The incident happened on March 17 2022.

The 48-year-old had been at a meeting with the high school's campus officer, who realised Osborne was under the influence of alcohol.

She went on to enter her Vauxhall Viva which still had the engine running, when the staff member contacted the police.

She was pulled over by officers in Glasgow's east end, where they detected a smell of alcohol and noted that she had bloodshot eyes.

She was found to have 211 milligrams of alcohol in her blood when the legal limit is 50 milligrams.

Osborne pleaded guilty to a single charge of drink driving at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

The Crown accepted a not guilty to a charge of exposing a 14-year-old boy to unnecessary suffering or ill health by driving under the influence with him in the vehicle.

Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month.

Osborne has been disqualified from driving meantime.
