Drugs worth more than £100k seized in Lanarkshire

Officers in Lanarkshire recovered drugs with a street value of around £106,000 following the execution of warrants on two properties on Wednesday 27 June 2018. Around 3.30 pm on Wednesday 27 June 2018 police attended at a property on Bothlyn Road in Chryston where they recovered a number of tablets, believed to be Valium, cannabis resin, cocaine and a substance that is believed to be amphetamine.

A 51-year old man was arrested and charged with various drugs offences. He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Thursday 28 June 2018. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Later that day, around 5.30 pm, officers also attended an address in Arran Lane, Moodiesburn where cannabis plants, a number of tablets, believed to be Valium, and a substance believed to be amphetamine were seized.

A 40-year old man was arrested and charged with various drugs offence. He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Thursday 28 June 2018. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

As a result of the support of the community, we have managed to take a significant haul of drugs off the streets.

“Those who supply drugs have absolutely no place in our community and through partnership working, and with the support of local communities, we will do everything we can do identify their criminal activities and bring them to justice in the aim of making Scotland a safer place.
