Drugs worth £400,000 seized in city raids

Drugs worth an estimated £400,000 have been seized during a police operation in Glasgow.

Officers from the serious and organised crime unit searched two vehicles at around 10am on Friday in Lomond Street, Possilpark.

They recovered more than 750,000 diazepam tablets, worth an estimated street value of £376,000, 1.2 kilos of amphetamine paste, worth around £2,500 and two kilos of herbal cannabis, worth an estimated £8,000.

As part of the operation, officers also conducted a search of two houses in the city's Egilsay Crescent and Ashgill Road and recovered a quantity of cash.

A 38-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the seizures.
