Around 2.40pm, on Tuesday 12 May 2015, officers stopped a car on the A737 Johnstone road and discovered a quantity of cocaine in the car. Around 9pm the same night, officers, acting under warrant entered and searched a commercial property in Heatheryknowe Road, Bargeddie, Glasgow and seized a quantity of cocaine and cash. Eight men, aged 22, 23, 30, 35, 35, 43, 44 and 50 have been arrested in connection with the seizure. Detective Inspector Alasdair Anderson, from the serious and organised crime unit, Greater Glasgow Division said: "This is a significant recovery and one which will certainly impact on the supply of drugs making their way into our communities. "The public can be assured that anyone who is involved in criminal activity can expect to be targeted by us. "Drugs are a scourge on society and this seizure reinforces our commitment to ridding our local communities of drugs wherever we find them."
