Man charged over £96,000 heroin discovery in Bearsden

A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drugs and road traffic offences after heroin with an estimated street value of £96,000 was seized in the Bearsden area.

Around 6.30pm on Tuesday, 9 April, 2024, officers conducted a search of an area on Station Road, Bearsden where a quantity of class A drugs was recovered.

The 48-year-old man is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday 11th April 2024, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Owen Murray from Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit said:

“This was a very significant recovery and demonstrates our determination to disrupt drugs activity and protect members of the public from the harm caused by this type of criminality.

“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.
