Seven people are to stand trial accused of being involved in a cannabis factory. Carole Martin (56), Susan McGrattan (54), Brian Scally (37), Darren Chalmers (26), Ian Matthews (37), David Kerr (29), James Robertson (38) appeared at the High Court in Glasgow.

They are charged with producing cannabis at an address in Glasgow Road, Paisley in Renfrewshire.

The seven face a further allegation of being concerned in the supply of the drug.

A separate charge then claims they did “steal electricity” by tampering with a meter at the property.

Lawyers for the seven pled not guilty on their behalf during a short hearing.

Judge Lady Stacey set a trial due to begin in June.

The case could last around seven days.
