The trial of a driver accused of injuring Rangers striker Jermain Defoe in a car crash has had his trial postponed.
24-year-old James Turner was allegedly driving dangerously in Balshagray Road in Jordanhill in September 2019 when his BMW M4 crossed a central reservation and collided with two vehicles on the opposing carriageway.
It is said the Peugeot 308 and Land Rover Sport then collided with a Mercedes-Benz A 200.
The incident allegedly “caused damage to said vehicles and injury to Jermain Defoe and Nicole Leonard.”
Defoe, 38, was in action that day having scored in a 5-0 win at Ibrox against Aberdeen.
A trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court was set to take place on Thursday.
Turner, of East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, continued to plea not guilty.
The trial was moved to January next year by Sheriff Diane McConnell who continued Turner’s bail meantime.
