Dog Walker Seriously Attacked In Glasgow's West End

A dog walker has been seriously attacked in Glasgow's West End by man wearing a high visibility jacket.

Around 2240 hours on Tuesday 17 February 2015, the 44 year-old man was attacked by a man as he was walking with his dogs on Great Western Road close to the junction with Byres Road.

The man was cut on his face requiring him to be taken by ambulance to the Western Infirmary where he remains in a stable condition following treatment.

The suspect is described as a white male of medium height and build. He is described as being in his 40’s with a beard. He was wearing a high visibility jacket and was wearing a grey rucksack.

Detective Constable David Hardie of Greater Glasgow Division CID at Partick Police Office said today:

“Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding this incident and officers are studying CCTV images in an effort to gather more information. In the meantime, we are asking those who were in the area to contact police if they noticed anything suspicious around that time.”
