Dog dies and child rushed to hospital after fire at Drumchapel flat
A second person was also taken away by ambulance for medical attention
A child's one of two people rushed to hospital after a fire broke out at a third floor flat in Drumchapel.
Emergency services were called to Linkwood drive just before five yesterday afternoon.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 1651 hours on Monday to attend an incident on Linkwood Avenue in Drumchapel.
"We dispatched two ambulances and our special operations team to the scene, with the first resource arriving within eight minutes.
"We transported two patients to hospital, including one child.”
A dog was killed during the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 4.42pm on Monday, 10 July to reports of a dwelling fire affecting a flat on Linkwood Drive, Glasgow.
"Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances to the scene.
"Crews assisted two casualties using a high-reach ladder and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"A further three casualties received precautionary checks.
"Sadly one dog passed away.
"Crews left at 8.23pm after ensuring the area had been made safe."
