New York's education department is expected to announce whether or not it's granted Glasgow Caledonian University a license later today.
The Scottish university's US campus was officially unveiled in April 2014 but has lain empty for nearly 3 years as the project hasn't had the green light from New York authorities.
Staff and students staged a protest last month claiming it's cost around 10-million pounds so far.
If the application is successful it will be the first foreign higher education institution to have authority to teach there.
