Death of man in Kirkintilloch 'unexplained' with police probe ongoing

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in East Dunbartonshire in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to reports of a man being injured in the centre of Kirkintilloch, When they got there they found he was dead.

West High Street was closed off for hours this morning as the probe into what happened. So far police are saying the death is unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05am on Sunday, 28 January, 2024 police were called to a man having been found injured on West High Street, Kirkintilloch.

“Officers attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
