Sudden death of baby in Glasgow treated as 'unexplained'

The death of a baby in Glasgow is being treated as unexplained.

Police officers were called to a property on Jura Street near to Bellahouston Park at 9.20am on Thursday morning - the 1-year old was taken to hospital but died shortly after.

The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will now be carried out.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.20am on Thursday, 31 December, 2020, police received a report of the sudden death of a 1-year-old baby at a property in Jura Street, Glasgow.

"The baby was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, however, pronounced dead a short time later.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances although the death is being treated as unexplained pending the results of a post mortem."
