Death of 9 year-old girl in Glasgow treated as 'unexplained'

An investigation is underway after the sudden death of a nine year old in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to a house in Dumbreck Road just before 2pm this afternoon.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1345 hours on Thursday 7th September 2017, police were called to a report of the sudden death of a nine year old girl within a property in Dumbreck Road, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are treating as unexplained at this time, A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
