Dealer, arrested after police smell cannabis in house, to hand over nearly £60k

A dozy drug dealer who was caught after police smelled his cannabis stash has now been ordered to hand over more than £59,000 to prosecutors. Brian Wylie,45, was ordered to hand over the cash following a proceeds of crime hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The crook was arrested in December 2016 after thieves tried unsuccessfully to break into his house.
When officers arrived at his property in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, to investigate the raid, Wylie invited them inside.
They smelled cannabis which prompted them to find cocaine worth £236,560, amphetamine worth £38,924, and £14,400 of cannabis.
Wylie, who had three previous drug dealing convictions, was jailed for nine years by judge Lord Uist in June 2017.
Judge Lady Clark of Calton ordered Wylie to hand over £59,057.03 within six months.
