Dash cam appeal after driver leaves scene of M8 crash

Police are searching for the driver of a car who fled the scene of an accident on the M8 this morning.

It’s understood the driver of the blue/green VW Golf or Polo crashed in to the back of a red VW Golf which then collided into the back of a silver VW Polo.

Police say the driver of the car stopped momentarily at the scene, on the Whitecart Viaduct, before heading off in the direction of Hillington at around 8.30am.

One man, the driver of the red VW Golf, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are underway to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and officers are appealing for any witnesses or information.

“In particular officers, are asking for any dash cam footage to be handed in as it could assist the ongoing investigation.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Road Policing Officers via 101.”
