Cyclist in hospital after crash in Rutherglen

A cyclist has been injured in a collision with a car.

The crash, involving a black Seat Leon, happened on Cathkin Road in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, at around 7.40am on Friday.

The 54-year-old man on the bike was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

He is said to be in a stable condition, while the driver of the car was uninjured.

Police Scotland officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
