A Scottish luxury fashion brand is set for a global expansion after revealing plans to open a retail outlet in New York.
Mackintosh, based in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, is set for a move to the Big Apple after Clydesdale Bank gave the green light to a £1.5 million funding package for the project.
The move will see Mackintosh line up with some of the biggest clothing brands in the world after securing residence on Madison Avenue, one of New York's premier shopping locations.
The store is set to open in February, and follows the opening of retail locations in London, Tokyo and Milan.
The business has seen a major increase in turnover in the last few years, with the figure sitting at £7.8 million as of March 2016.
The £1.5 million funding from Clydesdale Bank will assist in the expansion of manufacturing as well as the move to a new factory in Cumbernauld.
Bill Burnett, finance manager at Mackintosh, said: "It is a very exciting time for the business as we aim to expand our global reach.
"Securing the funding from Clydesdale Bank has allowed the business to thrive and we aim to continue our growth over the coming years."
