Crews tackle Newton Mearns fire

Fire crews are at the scene of a house fire in Ladeside Close, Newton Mearns.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.17pm and four appliances are on scene.

No one is believed to be injured and the fire has not spread to neighbouring homes.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 3.17pm on Wednesday, November 25 to reports of a dwelling fire on Ladeside Close, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire.

"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene where they remain in attendance as they work to extinguish a fire within a two-storey detached house.

"There are no reported casualties at this time."
