Pedestrian dies in hospital after Glasgow crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 59-year-old man was hit by a Ford Fiesta in Shawlands on Friday night
A pedestrian who was hit by a car in Glasgow on Friday night has died in hospital, police have confirmed.
The crash involving a 59-year-old man and a Ford Fiesta happened in Shawlands on Kilmarnock Road near to the junction with Holmbank Avenue around 11.30pm.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but later died from his injuries on Monday - his family are aware.
The 30-year-old driver of the car was unhurt.
Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses.
Inspector Andrew Thomson said: "Our thoughts are very much with the man's family at this sad time.
"We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and would ask anyone who has not yet come forward with information to get in touch with police.
"We're also keen to hear from motorists with dash-cam footage from the area to come forward.
"If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 4320 of 4 March."
