LA mayor tests positive for COVID-19 at Cop26 in Glasgow
The Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, is now isolating in his hotel.
The mayor of LA, Eric Garcetti, has become the first high-profile delegate to test positive for coronavirus while at the Cop26 climate conference.
Mr Garcetti who is chair of the C40 Cities Group, is now isolating in his hotel in Scotland following a positive lateral flow test.
The day before his positive test he attended an event with world leaders including Boris Johnson and Nicola Sturgeon.
The news was announced on his official mayoral twitter.
He has been pictured attending the climate summit in Glasgow the day before his positive result, appearing in photos alongside Glasgow City Council leader Susan Aitken.
It is not yet known if any one has been contact traced in relation to Mr Garcetti's positive test result.
