Paisley couple robbed by two men with blades in their own home
Last updated 4th May 2019
A couple have been robbed in their Paisley home by two men with blades. It happened around 11.50am on Friday 3rd May.
A 27-year old woman answered the door of the property in Dee Crescent and she was confronted by two men armed with weapons.
They made their way into the house where the woman’s 31 year old male partner challenged them, however, they managed to get into one of the rooms where they stole a small safe containing personal items.
The suspects, who made off on foot towards Fulbar Road, are described as both white, between 30 and 40 years of age, wearing almost identical clothing: black work wear type jackets, dark trousers, dark sunglasses, gloves and black baseball caps.
Detective Constable John Sharkey is investigating the robbery. He said: “Although thankfully not injured, this was very distressing for both the man and woman involved especially as their young child was also in the house at the time.
‘’The man gave chase after the suspects along Dee Crescent and managed to recover one of the weapons used, but the men got away.
‘’At this time we do not know why their house was targeted. We have had officers in the area speaking to neighbours many of whom came out to assist or who had heard a disturbance, however, we would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen the two suspects – who will have looked completely out of place there - before or after the robbery, or who may have any information that will assist officers with their enquiries.”
