Councillors in Glasgow have set a 6 month deadline to update on proposals to introduce better lighting in parks across the city at night.

It's the latest development in our Light the Way campaign after we told you three trials would take place Kelvingrove Park, Queen’s Park and Cranhill Park.

They have all been chosen as pilot areas where a diverse range of stakeholders will be brought together to gather evidence on what might be an appropriate approach for each park.

Glasgow Labour councillor Jill Brown told Clyde 1: "We want to make sure this isn't kicked into the long grass.

"By setting that deadline it means we will remain fully focused on getting parks lit in a sensitive way that considers the biodiversity and environmental issues.

"The people of Glasgow have spoken and it's time for councillors to take their concerns forward and start turning our parks into safe spaces."
