Cops Hunt Greenock Gunman Over Attempted Murder

The hunt for a gunman in Greenock has turned in to an attempted murder investigation. The attacker pulled out a gun and shot at a Vauxhall car, which had 2 people inside, on Poplar Street yesterday afternoon. The suspect is described as white, 5ft 4” in height and of slim build. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and had a scarf over his face. Detective Chief Inspector Catriona Henderson of Greenock Police Office said today: “The car and the suspect left the scene before police arrival, however there are no reports of any injuries at this time. “We are aware that there were a number of vehicles in the area of Poplar Street around the time of the attack and I would ask any witnesses to this incident to come forward to police” “Officers are continuing to study CCTV images and carry out enquiries in the local area to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and trace the person responsible.”
