Concerns For Man Knocked Down In Jordanhill

Published 22nd Feb 2015

Police are appealing to a man who was knocked down in the early hours of this morning to contact them.

It happened at around 2:55am when a van travelling east on Victoria Park Drive North, Jordanhill, Glasgow, struck a man crossing the road.

The driver of the van stopped and got out of the vehicle to see how he was but he got up and walked away.

However, it would appear that he was injured, possibly bleeding from a head wound.

The man is described as white, approximately 20 years old, of slim build, and was wearing a ‘Puffa’ type jacket which may have been ripped as a result of the impact.

Inspector Jeff Harper, Govan Police Office, is appealing for the man to get in touch, he said:

“Although it would appear that he was injured as a result of the crash, the man got up and, although unsteady on his feet, walked off towards Beresford Ave, Jordanhill."

“It is possible that he lives locally and went home, however, the van was badly damaged by the impact so we need to get a hold of the man to see if he is ok."

“Officers, supported by the Dog Branch and Support Unit Officers and the Air Support Unit, have been searching the surrounding area. Door to door enquiries are being carried out just now."

“Padding from what we believe to be the man’s jacket and small traces of blood were found in Beresford Ave, towards Mitre Road and Westland Drive but nothing since then."

“I would ask that the man, or anyone who recognises his description, contact police or get him to seek medical assistance.”

Information can be passed to officers at Partick Police Office on the non-emergency number 101.
