STREETS on Glasgow’s Clydeside are closed tonight as filming for a new TV thriller resumes.

Vigil – about a missing fishing boat and a death on a submarine – features Line of Duty star Martin Compston.

Scenes will be shot from 5pm to midnight on the Squinty Bridge, Finnieston Street and Govan Road.

The six-part series – which also stars Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie - resumes filming after production was halted in March due to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions

The series is set in Scotland and revolves around the events after the mysterious disappearance of a fishing trawler and a death on board a Trident nuclear submarine.

The two incidents see a conflict between local police and British security officers, with the Navy also involved.

DCI Amy Silva steps in to lead the investigation, which according to the plot synopsis, “leads an investigation on land and at sea into a conspiracy that threatens the very heart of Britain’s nuclear deterrent.”
