Clydebank man admits dragging woman down alleyway
The defence said he finds women's fear "arousing".
A Clydebank man has admitted dragging a 35-year-old woman down an alley way before assaulting her.
Andrew Greensmith covered his victims nose and mouth before forcing her down a lane in Partick last January.
The High Court in Glasgow heard how the woman screamed and banged on a ground floor flat window - Greensmith then released his grip and walked away.
Another woman came to her aid, who found one of the attacker's gloves - she later handed this into Partick police station.
DNA testing of the glove led to the Greensmith's arrest.
The court heard from the defence that the 36-year-old finds women's fear arousing.
Defence QC Gary Allan said: "The accused accepts that his motivation for carrying out this attack was sexual in that he finds women's fear sexually arousing, which is why he perpetrated this offence.
"He gets sexual gratification from causing fear. Despite this it has never been his intention to rape anyone."
Judge Lady Stacey remanded Greensmith in custody and placed him on the sex offenders register.
Sentencing has been deferred until July while background checks are carried out.
