Sighting of missing Clydebank woman boarding bus to London
47-year-old Karen Brown left home without her phone or purse on Saturday morning
A Clydebank supermarket worker who hasn’t been seen for four days has been spotted on CCTV boarding a bus to London.
47-year-old Karen Brown was reported missing after she failed to turn up to her work at Asda on Saturday.
Earlier today, her family – including husband Jock and daughter Jemma – made an emotional plea today for her to come home.
The press conference came as officers confirmed that Karen was seen on CCTV at Buchanan Street Bus Station on the morning of Saturday 14 October, with a possible further sighting in London on Tuesday.
Inspector David Quinn, from Clydebank Police Office, said: “We have made extensive enquiries to trace Karen but so far there have been no sighting of her locally, however, just today we managed to get footage of her at Buchanan Street Bus Station around 0820 hours on Saturday 14 October where she is seen getting on a Megabus to London.
“We would ask anyone who was on that bus to and who saw her to get in touch.
“The response to the appeal to trace Karen has been outstanding. Indeed, it was a woman from Clydebank who saw the appeal on Facebook who happened to be in London on holiday who said she saw and spoke to Karen in Hamleys toy store there. She helpfully contacted security who have been great in assisting our enquiry.
“It is the footage from the store that we are releasing today. If, however, it is not Karen and you recognise the lady, then please get in touch.
“Our appeal to day is for Karen to come home. She is not in any trouble and her family, friensds, workmates and her employers just want her to come back safe and well.
Karen's husband Jock Brown, said: “We’ve been in a dark place recently wondering what has been going on with Karen and why she would just take off like that, however, today, hearing the news that she has been seen in London is heartening but we really need her to get in touch with either us, the police or Missing People to let us know she is ok.
“We miss her terribly and we need her home. She became a granny a couple of months ago to Millie who she adores, just like she does her girls Jemma and Chloe.
“We just want to know you are ok. We all love and miss you.”
When seen on CCTV at Buchanan St, Karen, who is white, about 5 ft 6 in height, of medium build, with collar length brown hair and has hazel eyes, was wearing a pink fleece, blue jeans, white trainers and was carrying a green Asda bag for life.
The woman seen at Hamley’s, who is believed to be Karen, was wearing a burgundy Puffa style jacket, blue jeans and white trainers and carrying an Asda bag for life.
