Clyde shipyard legend and daughter to meet with Procurator Fiscal in Glasgow
Jamie Webster MBE is exclusively sitting down with Clyde News before he and his daughter Julie meet with Moira Orr later today.
Clyde shipyard legend Jamie Webster MBE and his daughter Julie are meeting the Procurator Fiscal in Glasgow later after she was wrongly accused of stealing money from a foodbank she set up.
The Crown Office dropped the case against her because she was able to prove she is innocent through bank statements.
"There has never been any consideration for my family throughout all of this"
She offered them up when she was first questioned in 2016, but it took two and a half years for someone from the Crown Office to look at them.
Jamie exclusively told Clyde 1: "The whole justice system is based on seeking the truth and they cast that aside.
"They have left no stone unturned in supressing the real story.
"There has never been any consideration for my family throughout all of this - we are simply being treated as a number."
Julie now lives in Cumbernauld after being forced to move away from her house in Summerston because she was being spat at in the streets.
"I need to stand up for Julie and protect her - it is my duty as a father"
Jamie now believes there should be an independent inquiry into the way the Crown Office handled proceedings against Julie.
He tearfully added: "My daughter is damaged property because her reputation has been ruined ever since she was first questioned back in 2016.
"I need to stand up for Julie and protect her - it is my duty as a father.
"I need people to believe what I am saying and I am asking for this inquiry with a clear conscience in the knowledge that I am doing the right thing."
A spokesperson for the COPFS said: "I can confirm that the Procurator Fiscal is meeting with Mr and Miss Webster on Monday 6 March to discuss their concerns."
