Glasgow CLAN Head Coach Malcolm Cameron believes recent adversity will help bring his team closer as he remained positive despite huge on and off the ice issues.

The club received massive fan backlash after planning to sign a player accused of rape in the United States.

The Braehead side performed a U-turn and abandoned the signing of Finnish player Lasse Uusivirta.

However, five sponsors have suspended their support of the CLAN and many fans are still upset and angered by the team's actions.

Owner Neil Black apologised to their fanbase and has since put the team up for sale.

Cameron was suspended then reinstated, whilst CEO Gareth Chalmers dropped permanently.

The team are also winless after 11 games this season and sit second bottom of the Elite League table.

However, Cameron remains upbeat about the CLAN's chances this campaign: "The whole team is together.

"Not everything is ever perfect and the season is a marathon, not a sprint."

"It's a good time to have adversity at the beginning of the year because it brings your group together."

Many supporters have been calling for a complete overhaul at the club, including in the management department.

However, Cameron's message to the CLAN fans is to stick by them: "They know what time of team we can be.

"It's a long haul, they know it's a rollercoaster.

"Our fans are great, they support the team and they're loud and they cheer.

"Our guys know they have their support."

There are 49 games remaining this season.

Up next for the CLAN are Guildford on Saturday night.
