City Centre Hotel Evacuated Over "Unidentified Odour"
A city centre hotel has been evacuated after an unidentified odour was found to be coming from its basement. The fire service was called to the Mercure Hotel in Glasgow at around 1.15pm. Firefighers were sent into the Ingram Street building to investigate, and confirmed an unidentified odour was emanating from the basement of the building. The hotel was evacuated, and the Environmental Protection Unit (EPU) from Hamilton Fire Station and other fire service specialist officers including Glasgow Scientific Services support were called in. The incident is on-going with the fire service remaining in attendance.
