Christmas officially lands in Glasgow

The countdown to Christmas is officially on as thousands packed out George Square for the Christmas lights switch on.

Radio Clyde's very own George and Cassi were joined by Santa and they got the crowd dancing and singing along to popular Christmas songs.

It was a rather windy night meaning the the switch on and firework display was delayed by 45 minutes but that didn't seem to worry those who had managed to get their hand on a ticket...

The Christmas lights will stay on in George Square until early in the New Year with a Christmas Market returning to thew square later this month.
