Child struck by car outside of primary school in the Gorbals

A child has been rushed to hospital by paramedics after being struck by a car outside a school in the Gorbals.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Cumberland Street, outside Blackfriars Primary, just after 3pm on Tuesday 15th October 2024.

The Scottish Ambulance Service sent out two paramedic response units, a critical care paramedic, an ambulance and a trauma team within three minutes of getting the call.

The child has been taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, but their condition is not known.

Officers remain in attendance to investigate and the force has cordoned off the area.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services are attending a road crash involving a car and pedestrian which occurred around 3.05pm on Tuesday, October 15, on Cumberland Street, Glasgow.”
