Officers are looking for a man who could help their probe into an assault on the day Celtic fans celebrated their Premiership title win.

Thousands of supporters packed out the Glasgow Cross area on May 18 after Celtic were presented with the trophy after their final match of the season at Celtic Park.

Police Scotland have released an image of a male they wish to speak to who may be able to assist their enquiries into an assault which took place on Trongate around at around 5:30pm that day.

The man (pictured) is described as a white male of slim build with short dark hair and wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Sarah-Lee McFarlane said "I would urge the male pictured or anyone who may recognise him or has information about this incident to contact us as soon as possible."

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1588 of 18 May 2024. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
