CCTV images released after violent assault on shopkeeper

Police Scotland have released CCTV images after a shopkeeper was seriously assaulted in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow last month.

The 30 year old man suffered what officers are describing as a "particulary violent assault" on Sunday 3rd January at around 1445 hours.

It happened inside Arkar Grocers in Ark Lane.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious facial injuries.

The man police are keen to trace is described as white, around 6 foot tall, and wearing a dark coloured waterproof jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective Sergeant Andrea Templeton from London Road CID said: "This was a particularly violent assault on a man who was at his work and enquiries are continuing to find whoever is responsible.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man in the images to contact police as we believe he may have information that could assist with our enquiries.
