CCTV images released in robbery probe in Hamilton

Police have released CCTV images of a man they are keen to trace after robberies in the Hamilton area.

Both happened on Thursday 29 September 2016 and in the first he targeted his victim at around 0610 hours on Clarkwell Road.

In the second he held-up the Shop Smart convenience shop on Glasgow Road at around 0710 hours.

Police say those involved were left shaken as a result and they believe they were linked.

Officers would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images. He is described as around 5’10 – 6’0 in height, or medium build, with bald/receding hair.

At the time of the incidents, he was wearing a khaki green jacket, black trousers, and Adidas trainers.

He was last seen walking on High Blantyre Road, walking down a lane which leads onto Milton Street in Hamilton, and wearing a high visibility vest.

Detective Constable David Timmons from Lanarkshire CID is leading the investigation.

“These incidents left the two victims in a state of shock. Our enquiries have been ongoing to trace the person responsible. At this time, we believe the man pictured may have information which could assist with our ongoing investigation.
