Police Scotland's released images of a man that officers believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries following a serious assault in Glasgow.

A 20 year-old man was walking with his friend in Old Rutherglen Road, on Thursday 22nd September around 1pm, when he was approached and seriously assaulted with a weapon.

The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Detectives are keen to speak to the man in the images as they believe that he may have information that will assist them with their ongoing investigation.

The man is described as white, around 20 years of age with short brown hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a tracksuit top that was white at the front and light blue at the back, dark coloured tracksuit trousers and dark coloured trainers. He was last seen walking on Caledonia Road towards Cathcart Road.

Detective Constable Nicol McPherson from Cathcart Police Office said: “This was a violent attack that took place in broad daylight which left this man with a serious leg injury. I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the images, or who has information that may assist the investigation to contact Cathcart Police Office through 101. Alternatively CRIMESTOPPERS can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
